sunroof motor

hello,
2013 Nissan rogue SL AWD. So my dumb a** forgot that I put an extension on my cargo rack - thus blocking the sunroof... I pressed the sunroof to open (angle up) and it hit the crossbars.. and kept trying to angle open and then stopped. so now for my sunroof to slide open or close I have to keep pushing the open and close button over and over again until its at the opening or closed position I desire.. do you all think I damaged the sunroof motor or something else? ebay sells them for cheap btw.

May just need to do a reset of the moonroof...

From the Owner's Manual:

If the moonroof does not operate properly,
perform the following procedure to initialize the
moonroof operation system.
1. If the moonroof is open, close it fully by
repeatedly pushing the switch toward
*2 .
2. Push and hold the switch toward *2 to
tilt the moonroof up.
3. Release the moonroof switch after the
moonroof moves slightly up and down.
4. Push and hold the switch toward *1 to
fully tilt the moonroof down.
5. Check if the moonroof switch operates
normally
