SUNROOF MOTOR

I have a problem!! I asked about how to close the sunroof on my '93 Q45, because the maplight console with the switches was stolen. I was told there was a crank handle... Did not find one, but used a substitute.. An allen socket on a rachet! Last night I was able to close the sunroof all the way and was a happy camper. Today, weather was gorgeous, so for the first time, since getting my car 3 weeks ago, I opened the sunroof, with the manual crank.Happy as a clam until I got to the car wash! Went to close it... it went part way then I heard a noise that sounded like a spring had sprung!! Now it goes backwards, but only part way forwards!
Do I need a whole new motor, or can I take this one out and fix it? Do not have an owner's or service manual so any detailed instructions would be great! Thanks!

I am guessing it was one or more of the cables that snapped.

There is a thread somewhere about replacing the sunroof, but it is not for the faint of heart nor the unskilled.

If it is one of the cables that snapped, is there a diagram anywhere? When I felt the snap, it felt like it was directly in the motor area. I actually pictured, in my head, a tightly wound coil that had sprung. I knew, instantly, that it was not a good sound! Right now, it will retract, but only go forward to a certain spot.

There are both differences and similarities between the 90-93 & the 94-96, so not all the information for the 94Q45 FSM is applicable, but the sunroof diagrams should be. I think the sunroof section is in BF, try BF-32.
