I have an 07 and far as I know, nothing has ever been done regarding upkeep, lubrication, etc. I have no issues with it and it's opened and closed nearly every day all year long, but I'm wondering if there is anything I should be doing? My Infiniti guy told me they never need work unless they stop working or if a leak develops. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time someone brought their car in with a sunroof issue.
I keep the tracs clean and tighten the screws along the edge when needed, but that's all. Just wondering if any of you have been doing something I don't know about?

I wipe the painted surface around that makes contact with the rubber surrounding the sunroof and the rubber with silicone. This keeps the contacts nice and tight to prevent water leaks and wind noises.

I also use a waterproof grease (philwood) on the gear section of the track.

Nothing else is necessary unless there's a problem.

I also wondered the same thing about this week ago. I noticed the weather strip around the glass isn't one continuous piece, its split....or is it broken? I have no leaks, but it kind of bothers me seeing this. Is this a problem, or is this how it is? How would I replace this and is it covered by warranty if its not how it should be?

I'll check mine at lunch but I'm pretty sure it should be one consistent piece.

Larz I also thought if you need to constantly tighten the screws up there maybe adding some blue loctite would help with that.

Both pics are of the same point on the drivers side.

What's a good lub to use to put on the track? I notice when I close my sunroof it starts to jerk as it closes.

Yup confirmed I too have those joints. They're quite tight so it should be fine. I also read an TSB that suggested if you experience excessive noise to have the panel raised slightly so its flush with the roof.

I have a question for you guys about this. My sunroof hasn't worked properly since i bought my car a year ago
it opens very slow and closes around the same speed if it don't stop half way or go back to the open position could that be a lube issue? track issue or motor issue ? or all of the above.
I'm not in a rush to fix it since i don't use sunroofs any ways but any input would be great and thank you in advance.

Do you have to hold the switch down? It sounds like the switch memory was wiped. Hold the switch down and open and close the sunroof a few times. It should learn the positions and function as a toggle.

Unless 06 is different, just make sure its closed then hold it closed for a few seconds to program it to open automatically.

However, ...again unless 06 is different... It sounds odd that you are able to hold the button down to open it when you lose memory. I have to constantly press the button until it opens or closes fully if I lose the memory.

I think you're right TDot. It's basically the same process that you perform with the windows.

Well, I went to try this today and I'm getting no response from the sunroof at all guess my issue is a motor issue.
I get a click sound when press the button on my dome but nothing at all from the sunroof.
This is definitely the most problematic car I have ever owned.
