after installing new seal, sunroof lid sticks at the close position. do i need to sand that area of the roof where it seals at when close? seal doesn't seem to stick out from the lid, however, unlike old one, this wraps the entire lid. no appearance as if too short. i do want to verify something.does the ends suppose to be at the front or the back of the sunroof lid?

So just to clarify the when you try to move the lid back or tilt it it sticks? This maybe a case where the clutch on the sunroof motor needs to be tightened. This is also the case when the roof wont slide back because the track hasn't been greased in awhile. If you search there will be a lot of info how how to do this. The motor is trying to overcome the friction that the new seal applys and cant because the clutch is too loose to apply any torque.

The original seal had the ends meet in the back from the factory. I dont think it makes any difference other than if water moves through the gap it will drip into the drip rail.

Good info. Just to clarify, the frame I did clean and grease. The operation of tilt up and down, slide back and forth is smooth. Its the last couple centimeters, the step of actually locking in place that sticks. Okay, if its locked in place, lid leveled with roof, I have to give a pull when attempting to slide open. Vice versa when closing. If I don't give a nudge when closing it just wont get that last few to seal or lock in place. Same deal with tilt.
Now you said something about tightening for torque. Ill check that out. However, she is adjusted correctly. But ill check that out again too. Thanks.

MIne did that when it hit the wind deflector.I shaved down the spots where the two would meet.Make sure the arms on each side are level too,so they can push deflector down evenly.

That was actually a small problem after the replacement. I t was tweaked a little and I bent it back carefully. She's clear. Is it necessary to sand the edge where the seal connects with the inner roof?

I think it was told to me that you have to adjust your motor to add more torque,to get it to open close right.
