Sunroof Issue, opens , but now won't close.

1995 j30 - Sunroof opens fine, but for some reason stopped closing about 3 weeks ago. My friend did get it to closed about 5 days ago by crossing some wires but my kids reopened it. Have not been able to get in touch with my buddy to help.......to make it worse, it has been 40 to 50 degrees here in California lately. I just got over the Flu as a result.....PLEASE HELP!!

if it opens but won't close sounds like the switch. until i get it checked out , i would take the panel off where the switch is and use an allen wrench and manually close it by cranking the allen wrench , you can,t miss it, or while the cover is off or try unplugging the switch and soaking the switch with a solvent to clean off the corossion , let it dry then see if it works. thats what i did i had that problem 3 weeks ago-------------------------------------warning the sunroof tracks are fragile and brittle you strong arm it and you will be putting in another sunroof in.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance. I followed these instructions and and all went well with the manual closing. When I open , I hear the motor and opnes well. When closing, I dont hear anything and it does not move. I will check the switches this weekend and see if that does the trick. I'm really just glad to get it closed. Once again, thanks for the quick response guys, you really saved me this weekend.
