Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and wanted to know if anyone has the base model Rogue, and eventually went out and installed a sunroof? If so, did you purchased the OEM sunroof or a suitable fit. I'm looking to have one installed. If anyone is from the NY, CT, NJ area that has info that would be a plus :).

Save your money. I have a Rogue with a sunroof, when we first got the Rogue we used that sunroof often. Now the novelty has worn off, the past 2 summers we’ve opened it maybe once each year. One of the big reasons is I forget to close it, and then I wake up in the middle of the night hearing it rain and run down to close the stupid thing.

I wish car manufacturers would have the sunroof automatically close when you shut the vehicle off. Maybe some do, but none I’ve had so far. That seems like a more practical and useful option than a gps map that can’t be updated, steering wheel radio controls, and all sorts of other electronic wizardry that is more or less useless or annoying after the novelty wears off.

Aftermarket sun/moon roofs generally aren't installed by dealerships, they tend to farm that out to local shops. If you're thinking of getting the panoramic version, just know that that is something typically not sold at the parts counter. It has a lot more components than the standard sun/moon roof, and will set you back about $2,000 just for the parts.

I have had a sunroof on my last 2 NIssans and enjoy them a great deal, particularly in the spring when my body is deficient in vitamin D. I find myself opening the shade more than the actual glass.

Anyone have an aftermarket sunroof installed? if so, how has it been since installation? I've found the OEM version for about $700. I'm sure install will be alot more.
