Hey guy's, my sunroof hisses prety badly only when im on the highway and i was wondering if this was caused by warned out sunroof seals?

i was thinking maybe if i can somehow prop the dandle down lower then it is by using washers were it bolts up to the roof it would create more pressure on the seals stoping it from hissing?? is this a good idea?

if anyone has had this problem before and has fixed it or if anyone knows how to fix this, your input would be apreciated.

thanks.

Yea , i think the "dandle" is bad since its "warned out" and all.

I had this problem when I got my current 240 - easy fix.

1.Where the close/pull handle is you can pop off the housing and expose some adjustment screws.

2. Loosen these and you'll be able to slide the mount towards the rear of the car. Its only a fraction of an inch but this is huge considering the clamping force of the handle. Once you pop off the protective housing you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

3. Tighten everything up, reattach the handle (you have to disconnect as if you're removing the sunroof).

4. Try closing the sunroof, you will definitely notice the handle is much stiffer to lock into place thus compressing the sunroof that much tighter on the seal.

5. Test drive and notice that the whistle is gone unless you reach speeds you shouldn't be at on public roads.

Cheers!

When my latch got broke.. I fixed it by moving it and made it "tighter"

yes it worked i got a chance to do it yesterday, i moved the braket towards the front of the car making a tighter seal when you close the sunroof and now no more hissing.

thanks for the detailed explanation.
