Whenever I drive with the sunroof popped up it always eventually falls back down. It happens whenever I go over a bump or go above about 30mph. Ive checked to make sure that the sunroof is all latched in correctly and I dont know what I need to change to fix the problem. Any ideas?

The only thing that could possibly be causing the problem, besides that stow-away hiding in your hatch closing the sunroof when you're not looking, is the latch itself. Either it is noticeably broken or somehow loose/worn/etc.

If you can't find a way to solve the problem by fooling with the latch...meaning you need to replace it...try looking in a salvage yard or, gasp, try the dealer.

Consider cutting a wooden dowel about 3" long; jam that sucker right into the sunroof opening. Easy. Works every time. Try some of the other ghetto-fantastic "work-arounds" such as coat hanger antenna, clear plastic driver's side window, or walkman taped to the dash! :ylsuper Guaranteed to leave a little extra cash in your pocket to spend on your, um,...hmm, something other than your car.

Where do you live? Which state? If your anywhere near the midwest there is a salvage yard just outside of St. Louis (Missouri side) that has S13's and 14's. They mail out parts all the time...let me know, I'll hunt down their number. What year is your 240?

Ok I have located the problem but I dont know how to fix it. The sunroof isn't locking into place. I can put it up and it will stay up forever as long as it doesnt move forward. The slightest movement forward causes the sunroof to latch to fall back down. Is the latch supposed to fit somewhere when its up and its not just connecting right, or is something else wrong? How do i remove the whole sunroof thing so I can look at it?

Assuming that your 93 sunroof is constructed the same as mine (or similar enough for all general purposes):

Directly in the front, center of the sunroof is a latch. On the driver's side of this latch is a sliding mechanism. Pull it towards the driver's door - should show a red stripe when pulled out.

On either side of the lifting handle/latch, in the center, rear of the sunroof are two small push-in tab/buttons. You have to push and hold these in while you open the latch and pull out of the holder.

That should be it. I looked at my latch a few minutes ago. It looks like there might be a spring of some sorts inside the roof-side of the latch (where the sunroof latch connects). These springs might force the metallic part of the latch towards the front of the car, and, when opened, hold it in that position. It's hard to tell without ripping it apart (as I so often do to this car).
