After a week of pretty steady rain in our area I ended up with a completely soaked passenger side floor in my '06 M45. After pulling out seats, carpet, trim, etc. and getting inside the car the next time it rained, it's definitely coming from the sunroof area and not the windshield. Upon research on here I pulled the front of the headliner down and checked the front drain tubes. Both were connected solidly. However when I tried to pour water down them to test, it drained VERY slowly. Definitely seems to be the issue.

I know this topic has been covered before but the one thing I can't find so far is where do the tubes terminate? Does anyone know or have pictures of where the water is supposed to exit the tubes? My tubes look fine at the top where they connect to the drain. So my thought is I need to check the other end...problem is I can't find it.

Welcome to the forum.

Just a guess, but I'm assuming it goes somewhere into the A pillar? If I recall that's where water from the door sills usually comes out, etc. Might point you in the right direction...

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that the dealerships use a long pipe cleaner to clean the drain tubes. I also understand that a bicycle brake wire can be used, as it is both flexible and yet stiff enough to push out something blocking the line. Here in the northwest, it is usually pine needles that clog up everything.

Here is a link that also might help: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Leaky-Sunroof

Unable to find out where the tubes terminate, but Kmiles made a great suggestion. Get hold of bicycle brake wire, start at the top of the drain tube and slowly push it through to see if you can force out whatever is blocking it.
