Sunglasses compartment

Ok the ONE thing that gripes me about my 02 Pathy is the damn sunglasses compartment. I wear a pair of Oakley 5squared glasses. They are one of the smallest sets Oakley offers and still don't fit? The thing is built for a pair of baby glasses or something?

Anyways, this may be stupid. But I have seen a lot of guys do some pretty awesome things with their Pathys here. Just wonder if anyone had any ideas for a mod maybe? Not that big a deal really. Just thought others may have had the same thoughts.

I don't think it's possible to expand the compartment easily. See the top-side view of a console. Perhaps a compartment from a newer Nissan vehicle will swap in without much trouble, I don't know.

Try positioning them in a different orientation, my oakley square wires fit - but only in one way

I've only had luck with wire frame sunglasses up there. Sports sunglasses with a larger plastic body are hit-and-miss, more often miss than hit.

I've always wanted to make a flip down mount for my gps with the compartment.... can't think of anything else to put there and none of my sunglasses fit

I actually stumbled upon that photo after posting this Town. Tried a bunch of positions with the Squares with plastic frames. Maybe someone will give another nissan overhead a try?

If you don't allready have one, perhaps give one of those Visor clips a try.

I use http://www.rei.com/product/709556/ek-ek ... visor-clip for my prescription glasses, and it works fine.

It's neat, and out of the way (I clipped it to the passenger side visor). Mind that I wouldn't leave any glasses out/visible if I regularly parked in "higher" crime areas.

or if you do a lot of offroading, you could mount a clinometer there.. Rugged Ridge sells a few models on amazon for pretty cheap but the reviews are iffy.
