SunGlass Holder Replacement

I am a new member and owner of a M35-2009 - and this is my first post. My sunglass holder got dislodged and in order to replace it requires removal of the overhead console to which it is attached. I tried pulling on the edges of the console but it wont budge and dont want to apply too much force lest I break it. Has anyone had this problem and if so can advise what to do ? Thanks for your help.
