Hi all,

I just broke my driver side visor in my 1994 Q45a and I was wondering if a visor from a 1991 Q45 fit? I really need to replace this as my morning and evening drives are both with the sun directly in my eye.

Here is the visor I found on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

Thanks in advance,

Chan

I dont know if the '91 will fit, but my broke also('94) passenger and driver sides. The plastic housing around the metal pin that acts as a hinge breaks to easy. I have temparly removed mine and now Im looking to fix mine, I'll watch your post to see what you do, good luck.Fred D

Fred

The exact same part of mine broke. I just want to replace the whole visor but for now I just used rubber bands to hold The mirror cover in place for now.

There is a great post on the visor post repair by Tangalora in IOM. zerothread?id=50000

Joe has the inserts, but pre-April price rise they were about $57. All the used ones are broken.

I used a small hose clamp, tighten it up good around the broken sunvisor arm, like shown. This will hold the plastic cover that you removed the screws from in place, plus it will hold the visor up once you work it back into the hole in the roof. Between the small nut on the clamp and the "tail"piece that's going to be there once you tighten up, these will keep the visor arm from sliding out of the hold in the roof and bussin you in the head...like it did me.

The blue piece you see is probably not necessary, it was just a small hollow piece of rubber shaped like a cup i had laying around in my car...in it i put some GLUE and capped the end to keep hose clamp on for certain.
