sun roof/map lights on the sun roof controls

when I open the door or event when i slide the dimmer switch to the all interior lights on position should the sun roof-map lights come on or should they come on when you press there button?

They only come on when you press the buttons. It could be a cool mod to make them come on with the dome light - but you would need to put a diode in so that the dome light wouldn't come on when you press the map light button.

How brightly lit do you need your interior to be? Do the dome lights and footwell lamps not adequately illuminate your interior? If extra illumination is needed, could it be possible that some bulbs need replacing?

naw I'm not blind but I am jealous of my 2000 GMC jimmy that has all the lights go off when I open the door.
