I have decided since she wont be driven for a while and in the garage I was gonna put some hours into her.

First thing I replaced the transmission mount (tonight)

Next I will be doing the tension rods, and oil change (tomarrow) then the PS pump when it arrives.

I was also wondering has anyone ever resued dynamat? My old car has a ton, I want to remove it and install it in the Q, I assume i have to heat it up and then remove it but the question is will it stick again?

Also I am going to remove the radiator and clean all the crap from it, also I am going to order new O2 sensors and upper links.

I am waiting for my budget strut bar to come and thats goin on as well. After the car is on the road I am going to get a BG injection flush and a transmission flush with full syn.

Then Sirius Satelite radio, clear bra and nice tint. You ask why I am doing all this? Well I am going to take a road trip and want to make sure everyhting is working and I am very comfortable

Any other suggestions while she is sitting?

I'd skip the sirius radio, their present cash burn rate coupled with the EXTREMELY low subscriber base points to them being out of business shortly. XM Radio is looking up and make even turn a profit this year.

Please post on the transmission Mount replacement, I need to do that one myself.

Tory,

You should be okay with the Dynamat. Only problem I see is cracking, I know really old Dynamat cracks when removed.

I agree with JBerger about Sirius going belly up soon. From what I hear, their service is not quite up to par with XM.

Good luck with the Q!

I agree entirely! I suspect that XM will have similar problems and will not be around for the long haul.

One more question, where should I put the Dynamat the doors and the floor? or just the doors and rear deck. I assume if I want to put it on the floor i have to remove the seats to get to the carpet. Anyone done this? Was it worth while? I have about 3 rolls in my other car I am just aching to pull out.

Any other recomendations while I have her all apart?

i would leave the dynamat were it is and use visciolastic from mcmaster-carr.its 20 or so a roll and does a better job and is lighter.once you put it on concider perm.i use alot of different sound control stuff.some friends say its the quitest car they have ever been in.i think its funny since its the noisiest car ive owned beside my fender shakin 58 belair.

They can always raise their prices... if they went from $13 to $20 a month I doubt too many would cancel. And when Sirius goes belly up they can go to $30 a month.

Capitalism!!

I say boycott. Why pay to have commercials beamed at you?

I'll stay with the 10 CD changer, thank you.

They would lose customers, I would think, and open themselves up to lawsuits! Not a pretty picture.

I'm an XM subscriber. It's a good service. Commercials are kept to a mininum. You'll hear about 10min worth of commercials every hour, not bad. You'll hear lots of independent artists you've probably never heard of before. It's a good investment. FM radio sucks, you'll hear the same mainstream garbage replayed every hour. I'm totally disgusted by the fact that JaRule, Eminem and other rap garbage get airplay on "Pop" stations. The American mainstream music scene and MTV is in a sad state of facelessness right now and I'll pay a grand if I have to to near hear that garbage.

Another option worth looking into: the in-car MP3 jukeboxes. What's better than having up to 3,000 of your favorite songs right at your fingertips with ZERO commercials? Granted MP3's don't sound as good as CD's but it's forgiveable.

heres my .02 cents on your summer road trip music problem. the wisest investment i have made to date was buying apple's ipod. I got the 10 gig model and iv got 1350 songs and its about half full. i dont use cds anymore..its great. the only bad part about the player is that 1. It costs $400 (or 300-500 depending on the model)2. There is no "classy" way of connecting it to the Q, i use a tape converter, and the sound is full and there is no buzzing or static.

If you want cheaper (like me) and dont have enough $ for the iPod, even though its great, consider getting the Archos HD models... I have the older 10gig model and you can store anything on it, movies, music, etc, etc. I also use a car kit for the car. You can use HardDisk players as second HD's or MP3 players. I have about 500songs on it now, and im only using Gigs about 3-4gigs. They only cost about 200bux, so look into that...

Music Formats

I've gotta throw my opinion into the ring here as I spent way too much money and time (and hearing) listening to music in my years. About 2 years ago I got a Sony MD player, I'm very impressed with both it's storage (4hrs on a MD) and sound quality (CD like). I looked last summer for a good in dash unit, and decided it would be too much to re-wire the car around the amplified speaker set up. I did pick up a tape convertor and have really enjoyed it.
