suggestions?

All over the world, Nissan products are involved in road racing, track days, time attack and autocross.

Chet has a lot of good racing related links in the suspension FAQ sticky in wheels/tires, maybe copy paste the relavant ones to a sticky in here

also...scca has more auto-x events in more places if you want to do that, but if youre looking towards road racing nasa is much easier to get started, basically you run nasa hpde's and get certified by an instructor to move up step by step, until you run HPDE4, which is basically like time attack...then you move up to get comp license and start racing, its much less expensive this way and you can go at your own pace

finally, the links:

Information for newbies on Auto-X preparation. Tire Pressures and suspension set-up. Links to local area SCCA events. And class information and PAX time factors would be good too.

I'll try to get some type of FAQ up by the end of the weekend. I'll make it very in depth. I'll cover both autoXing as well as track days, and maybe touch on racing.

upcomming events would be VERY hard to organize, because each state has a minimum of 1 sanctioning body.

lets take arizona. we have NASA, SCCA and PAS. pretty much everyweekend from september to may there is something going on. and thats just HPDE.

just linking to local bodies would be best.

yeah, we should leave the upcoming events to the regional forums, and most the tire reviews should be kept in the wheels/tires/suspension forum...unless it is pertaining to track use only.

keep your suggestions coming and we'll try to please all that we can I think this forum is going to be sweet

DLB Racing's calendar is growing in popularity for communicating events ( http://www.dlbracing.com ).

I would break the FAQ down into two FAQs: one could focus on driving technique and basic car preparation, the other on the ever popular performance mods.

HTH, and thanks for setting this up.

GRM has good articles that can spawn ideas for our own stickies. one that i like is in there June 2005 issue that talks about how to increase your lap times without buying new parts. basicly it tells you how to tune your car.
