Post

Hi,

well I am about to go into the process of building my SR20DET. The engine was taken out of my S14 today and is going to get competly taken apart for a full rebuild, I have been doing a lot of research here and I have been buying parts for my sr20det left and right. I am hoping that maybe some of the sr20det gurus on this board could give me some suggestions or let me know where I can improve.

Engine is a S14 Black Top SR20DET

Parts:-Garret 2871R .064- Z32 MAF- SARD 550cc Injectors- Walboro 255 Fuel Pump- CP Pistons 86mm- Eagle Rods- Enthalpy ecu tuning- Apexi SAFC Neo- Apexi Super AVCR- Apexi Z32 Racing Suction Intake- HKS Hi Power Catback Exhaust- Catco 3" cat- Greddy 3" Downpipe- Megan Racing 3" exhaust elbow- Tomei Exhaust Manifold- Nismo Cold Thermostat- OEM Nissan Gasket Set- OEM Nissan Hydralic Lifters- OEM Nissan Main Crank Bearings- OEM Nissan Con-Rod Bearings- OEM Nissan Crank Thrust Bearings- OEM Nissan Timing Chain- OEM Nissan Belt Set- Koyo Aluminum Radiator- Circuit Sports Rocker Arm Stoppers- Brain Crower 264/264 Cams- Brain Crower Valve Springs And Retainers- Greddy Adjustable Cam Sprockets- Greddy Pulley Set- Greddy Spec-M FMIC- Greddy Hotpipe- HKS BOV Flange- HKS SSQV BOV - ARP Headbolts- HKS 1.2mm Headgasket- NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

I am hoping for 350hp from this setup. Any help or suggestions on where I might be able to improve my setup will be much appreciated. I posted this because I live in the country of Spain and here almost no one has knowledge about the sr20det or modifying engines to begin with. So i´m pretty much by myself on this project. So please any help or advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks!-Terry

Im tired of people crappin on Megan racing. They have really stepped up these last few years. Ive heard many good things about their new stuff, give them a second chance.

Yea they really are pretty decent parts, you might get one defect out of THOUSANDS but it happens to alot of companies. I've been to megans shop and they use the same materials as those big companies, all they do is copy down other companies dimensions and send it off to be made.

Thank for the replies...........so no one has any suggestions besides megan racing parts? As for the Megan Racing elbow, it´s cheap, it works , and it´s the least of my concerns. But thanks for your feedback

Do you guy´s think the SARD 550 injectors will be enough for my setup?

Thanks,-Terry

Good luck getting an M-spec, I believe that their discontinued. Also, you might want to save some money on the exhaust manifold by going megan. People will tell you that megans crack but so will the tomei. Also, as for your SAFC, you'd be better off getting a tune from like enthalpy or jim wolf.

lol I was lucky enough to get one of the last M-Specs on the market after they were discontinued. I was looking at the differences between the megan racing and tomei manifolds and the tomei seems to be alot better quality. But if people are having problems with the tomei manifolds too I guess I will look for another manifold to buy. Problem is I can´t afford to spend $1,000 on a hks or other big named exhaust manifold. I need something that´s cheap and reliable and that I don´t have to replace every other month. As for the ecu tuning, yes I am going with a enthalpy tune and the safc is for backup.

Thanks for the suggestions they are much appreciated -Terry

Yeah I will be getting a deleted cat for track days, I will have to look into the meth/water injection. So I´m guessing I should have no problem running the 550cc´s on this setup right?

Thanks for the help:),-Terry

If your getting a ecu tune you should get bigger injectors for more head room, If you dident know get at least 1 step colder plugs for higher boost and with a built bottom end you should be going for over 350whp

Yeah I think I´m going to end up getting some bigger fuel injectors because I am somewhat unsure about the 550cc injectors. Yes the plugs are 1 step colder. As for 350rwhp it is a hp rating I will would be happy with although if I make more hp even better lol.

Thanks everyone for the help!-Terry
