I have a '91 Q45 T, low mileage, suspension in very good shape (new steering rack, upper control arms, rear shocks, prob could use front soon). Bought 17x7.5 five spoke take-offs from 99-01 q45T. Consensus of the Inifiniti board is for 245/45/17's. I'm looking for all season tires and would like to hear some suggestions from the experts in terms of brands.

Thanks

Looking for ...

Summer Performance
  • Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 - $90
  • Sumitomo HTR Z - $93
  • Sumitomo HTR Z II - $99 Special
  • Dunlop SP Sport FM901 - $114
  • Yokohama AVS ES100 - $116
  • Kumho Ecsta MX - $127
  • Dunlop SP Sport 9000 - $131 Clearance
  • BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW - $159 (I use the KDWS version, nice)
Plenty more, up to $274 EACH

OR

All Season Touring/Compromise
  • BFGoodrich Comp T/A HR4-2 - $99 Clearance (in 245/50HR17 to get sufficient load rating -98H, little low on the speed rating)
  • Sumitomo HTR+ - $95 Special
  • Yokohama Avid H4 - $103 (Little low on the speed rating)
  • Yokohama Avid H4S - $111 (Little low on the speed rating)
  • Continental ContiExtremeContact - $114
  • BFGoodrich Traction T/A H - $114 (Again, a little low on the speed rating)
  • BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS - $125 (I have these, pd more, but got "free alignment" :D)
Again, plenty more up to $228 EACH for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

I've had the above mentioned BFG's (All Season) & Bridgestone Potenza RE's (Summer Performance), can't say that I noticed a big difference in everyday driving, but I may go back to true Performance and get some winter tires for the cold season.

Others will weigh in, as Jeff already did, he likes his Sumitomo HTR+.

(NOTE: All these prices are from NICO sponsor - Tire Rack)

OR

The Falken tire that AZhitman uses is available, and don't forget the Firestone that Maxnix uses. Search on both guys and I think you'll notice favorable comments for both tires, even though their size isn't identical to your's. Still, these are two brands you should research heavily: Falken & Firestone.

How do the 17x7.5's fit on the car? Any interference? Do they sit right, ie not too far in or sticking out too far?

I am picking up a 1990 Q from a friend in a week and it still has the 15 inch stockers on there. They have to go.

7.5 factory wheels will sit just right under the car.
