I've had my car for 3 years now, i bought it brand new from an infiniti dealer. I love my I30 and all, but its pretty much stock. It doesn't have a navigation system or cd changer.

Internally: I'm getting bored of my I30, so i was thinking bout installing a Navigation system/DVD player inside, or fixing up my sound system so that I can plug in an iPod or external mp3 player ( i'm not sure how to do it so that it's directly connected to the sound system for optimal performance)

Externally:I looked everywhere, but there doesn't seem to be any body kits for an I30. Performance wise, I know that there are after market parts to make this car perform better and handle better, but I'm not sure where to look.

I would like to do a lot of stuff to my I30, 'cuz i'm getting bored of driving it. I was thinking bout doing stuff to it, or exchanging it for an BMW 3 series. Please help! Thanks

The I30 and the 5th gen maxima should have the same performance parts. Lots of intakes available (Injen, JWT, Stillen, etc). Warpspeed, Budget, etc make Y-pipes and B-pipes. Full cat-backs are available. Hotshots, Budget make headers for the car as well. Underdrive pullies and new ECU's are avail too. Stillen makes a supercharger for the 3.0 as well if you want boost.

From a suspension standpoint, a rear sway bar is a must. Then you have the choice of coilovers or pro-kit style springs. Adjustable or non-adjustable struts/shocks. Front/rear strut tower braces, etc. There are also big brake kits, Brembo rotors and SS brake lines available for better stopping power. Better wheel-tire combo's will help handling too.

Thanks! Should I go to a body shop to get all of this done? Since i've never done any work on my car before other than changing the oil. Or do you recommend me buying the parts myself, and then taking it to a body shop to get it installed? Do most people install the parts themselves?

If you are mechanically inclined, then you should be able to tackle the install of intake, strut bar, and rear sway bar with the help of a friend and some directions (there are some directions in the technical forum under the how-to sticky). If you are not comfortable with doing it yourself, you're better off letting someone do it that knows what they are doing.

The Y-pipe is the pipe that runs from the factory exhaust to the cat. Aftermarket Y-pipes are less restrictive than the factory pipes. The B-pipe runs from the cat to the muffler. B-pipes on my 5.5 gen are without a factory "crush section". I'm not sure if the '00-01's have them tho.

I think the only ones available are from Jim Wolf and Technosquare.
