Hi all,

I've been checking out the recent crop of hitch-mounted accessories, but it seems since its summer, most people are looking to mount bikes and now snow gear. I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone and would like to get a hitch mounted system capable of carrying both snow boards, probably 3-4, and bikes 2-3.

I've perused the internet, namely Yakima and Thule, it appears Yakima has a system, however it is not compatible with the Rogue.

Any ideas, suggestions, or others using such a rig?

Yakima Hitchski- Holds 6 pairs of skis or 4 boards.

Attaches to any of Yakima's mast style bike racks like the Bighorn.

The Bighorn is the rack I use and it's available in 1.25 and 2" receiver designs. It's installed on a Curt 1.25" receiver hitch.

I have never used the hitch ski attachment, but it looks neat. I do have an older Powder Hound ski carrier which attaches to my Yakima roof rack. I haven't used it in years as I usually carry my skis and boards inside the vehicle to protect them.

I saw that Yakima version, but when I go to the 'rack my car' or whatever they call it function, it says the Rogue is compatible with the Bighorn, but the skimount is not.

I'm looking at that same Curt/U-Haul hitch you had links for in other threads. Has the 'misalignment' of the bolts caused you any problems in terms of stability?

I'd sorta like to avoid roof racks, although if we get a canoe, I suppose I'll just have to get both.

Not sure why. I cannot see it to be a clearnace or eight issue.

The 'misalignment' was one bolt hole. It was easily fixed and does not affect the stability, durability, or strength of the hitch.

I have both!
