I have just recently become interested in customizing cars and already have a stereo system I like. For those interested, I am running an Alpine CD-M 7874 head unit, Infinity 6.5'' Reference door speakers, no rear speakers (but am taking suggestions) and 2 Alpine E Series 10 inch subs connected to an Alpine MRP-M350 amp running bridged at 700 watts. I have some Z Racing custom 15 inch wheels. I have Bosch Platinum +2 spark plugs and some generic replacement spark plug wires. I am running an automatic transmission. Other than occassional replacement parts to fix leaks, everything else is what already came with it.

About the only things that need to be done are to replace the bumpers (thank you very much previous owner...) and if anybody knows of a good body kit and where to get it I would like to know. I am also trying to decide between getting a capacitor or a better alternator since my lights dim when I do anything electrical (windows, stereo, etc.).

Of course, my main purpose is to someday make my car able to compete in shows so if anybody has suggestions for that, I will definitely take note. Thanks.

i would think alternator if your lights dim from electrical accessories unless it dims in sync w/ the bass. So you actually got smaller rims? I think s14s look beter with larger rims...s13s can get away with small rims more easily, but that's just what i think :P i think for starters get bigger rims if you want to compete in shows. i'd say 18s would be right for a show car :D

Good luck finding a new alternator with more juice... unless you know if a Xterra or a Frontier's alternator will go into our 240's. That's the best I could do after hours and hours of research for a high output alternator. One thing you can do is get an optima redtop and a cap to "reduce if not eliminate" the dimming. This is however just a patch and the truely best way to go is more power alternator. I just haven't found one yet.

Actually, I had some plain rims on it before that got all bent up and they were already 15 inch ones. Unfortunately at the time, I didn't really have much choice in rim selection since I had to pick the least expensive ones they had. No chrome for me.:(

my suggestion coming from another auto S14 (base model here) ... get 5spd, LSD, and upgraded sways... you'll never want to leave it!
