How much did your Infiniti cost? What condition was it in? Did it come with a maintenence history? Did you buy it from a dealer or a private party?

Give a brief description of your vehicle if you'd like.

I'll go first.

I, or rather my parents, bought my Q45 in 2000 for $5500 from a private individual. It's a Silver 1992 Q45. It had 70k miles on the odo. There was only one tiny ding in the drivers door under the keyhole. All maintence records from the date of original purchase were provided.

1995 Q45 with TCS and heated seats. My father purchased the car brand new for about $52,000. I took the car over with about 27,000 miles on the odo in 1998. By then it had plenty of dings and scratches because we live in a city with parallel parking. I don't have my father's service records but I have al of mine. The car has about 77,000 miles on it now and it runs fine. Hoping to get 5 more years on it and replace it with an M45, a G35 or a FX35, or whatever car looks like a good one at that time.

Anybody else?

The reason I suggested this as a sticky is so that we would have kind of a registry of prices. This could be very useful for when members/New Members find an Infiniti for sale, and would like to know what a good price for it would be.

1st Q.. 1994.5 Q45. TCS, heated seats.. Paid $5500, and we saw how far that took me..... no service records, OK condition, LOTS of work done...

2nd Q.. 1994 Q45t... No TCS, heated seats. Good interior condition, OK exterior..... You know the story. Unusually good mechanical condition.. What I paid? Im not done yet

93 Q45. Good condition but not great. 117k on the clock. Bought the car at the auction for $2000. I now have about $2600 into the car including tires, injector, fuel pump, window regulator.

1995 Black Q45a loaded, 68,000 miles, looks great, $4,700. bought from a private party. The price is what Car Max was going to give him for the car. He had the printed Car Max inspection report and purchase offer.

replaced so far: tires, alternator, fuel pump, water pump, fan, belts, filters, trans flush.

Yet to replace accumulators. Next on the list if nothing else fails.

1996 green over tan Q45 with 147,000 from ebay for $5500. I am the third owner, previous was a woman driver. I have some repair records, which look like they might be complete, given the previous owners. Last service record was $1000 for a 75,000 mile service - no significant repair work needed.

Cosmetics in pretty good condition - no rips in the leather, bodywork intact, just faint "spotting" all over the clearcoat and brightwork - paint guy said it looked like acid rain damage - looks like water spotting after a wash, but doesn't rub off.

I've replaced a front suspension arm, cam position sensor, O2 sensor, fuel pump, door vinyl on the passenger side ... About $7500 total into it so far.

Will put $3000 into a plenum and valve cover job, and new struts. So far, have gotten 11,000 miles out of it for $2000 in repairs.

92 Q. $3800 at 168k. Now at 193k and doing great!

Service records here:http://q.spilky.com/irl.xls

I think all together (including the purchase price of the car in 2003) I spent about ten grand.

90 Q, bought with 207,XXX miles on the odo. Paid $400. Needed an engine, drivers window was busted out, tires all flat, all brakes and rotors needed replacement, exterior was ok, interior ok except seats are shot to hell (workin on it though), all speakers shot, no cd changer, bad fuel pump, squeaky suspension...well I'm in 3k deep so far...

- Engine replaced with ALMOST all new hoses (all under plenum done)- Window fixed thanks to N.O.W.- New tires- All new brakes and rotors- exterior is just in need of a small paint touch up, but otherwise is in showroom condition- I cleaned my floormats...and if anybody needs some advice on how to do this, see below.- I got a 10-disc changer- I'm expecting my speakers back from Bose very shortly ($153.20 total - paid for fronts, rears free )...see advice on Bose below too -Fuel Pump done- Chain Guides next- Suspension after Chain Guides- ???- BTW, got Satallite Radio for Christmas

Floor Mats: I soaked the mats with Simple Green (spray bottle recommended), then poured HOT water on the mat covering the worst areas. Next I took a car upolstery scrub brush and scrubbed the heck out of them till you could see the black (yes black - from tan mats) suds start to rise. Then - wasting NO TIME I put them in the washing machine on the SOAK cycle, sprayed more simple green in the water, and let them sit for about 10 minutes, and then ran them through the regular wash with NO LAUNDRY DETERGENT. Once they were done washing, I sat them in the sun and let them dry off. RESULT: Good as new! I just wish I had taken some before/after pics, HUGE difference. I tried a bunch of different upolstery cleaners for this, but Simple Green put them all to shame!

Bose:

If your amps need a rebuild and you don't want to dish out $250ea+ for new speakers, I'd like to post my advice - this isn't the first time it's been posted by me or anyone else, but I have figured something out.

I sent my speakers/amps (all 4) in to Bose for a rebuild. I was first quoted $75 per speaker ($301 total) but then I read a thread on Nico about a recall on the rear speakers/amps from the 91 Q's. I called and verified this with Bose. They said it's on the 91 Q's...so I told them I have a 91 Q (I have a 90). Price changed immediately from $301 to $153.20. My old boss bought a 94 Q two days ago, rear speakers shot, called Bose and he told them he had a 91 Q. Free rebuild.

Apparently Bose either has no way of knowing, makes no effort to check, or just doesn't care for what year car the speakers actually came from. So in closing, before you go aftermarket because fixing Bose is too expensive, contact: [email protected] or (800)231-2673...or if you want a live body: (508)776-9524

Hmmm can't get into the forum. It must be down. It sucks because I got XM and no speakers! Bose is closed until Jan. 3rd! I guess I'll just put it in my Moms I30 and drive it while she's gone. I have XM in the Civic but I never get to drive it to enjoy it.
