I have a suggestion for a new feature on Nico.

It only shows up when you are replying to a thread, or making a post.

Well, you know how you can link to other web pages, pictures, etc... Well normally you have to right your own code.

On another forum I frequent http://www.the12volt.com . They have a feature for posting URLs. You can click on the button right above the reply box and it prompts you for what words/name you want your link to appear as, and then it prompts you for the address. I just think that it would make it a little easier/simpler for non-code-savy people to post links.

Does that make any sense?

*edit* I just noticed that Nico has a similar feature, but it's not as intuitive. It automatically converts links into form, but it doesn't give you the option of putting a "custom" name for the link.

I know what you mean. I think the old forum had this, but it's missing here. It's nice to be able to label very long links.

yes there is you just dont know how to use it......

For instance I can type a link that goes to Q45.org like this Visit the Infiniti Q45 resource

You do it like this, replace the parenthesis with brackets

(url=www.q45.org)Visit the Infiniti Q45 resource(/url)

It's there and it works, but who wants to use the button when you can do it yourself. Next thing you know you're gonna want OEM part numbers and use them :O.

Dude, I love it when you get people for not spelling Infinty right... Everytime that happens I laugh out loud.

But I'd suggest using a thumbnail instead and make it a clickable picture, like this .

Quote my post to see how.

That is EXACTLY what I am trying to do.

I am missing something. I have 3 internet connections open, with your tutorial and Wes' instrucitons, but still can't figure it out. I will keep trying.

Once I learn something, I learn it. It just takes a little bit, to get it through my thick skull.

Got it! Now, how did you do the image, where when you click on it, it shows the full image? Is that a link directly to a specific picture, in you member's ride section, or is it to a link, where you have the image stored on a web site somewhere?

Thanks for the help!

When you have URL tags wrapped around something (image or text), when you click that "thing" you launch a new window (depending on your browser settings) with the link designated in the first part of the URL tags.

Jeff - looks like you have the image launching your memebers ride section, is that what you want it to do?

So would it be difficult to have the Link button prompt for a label? I know you can type it all out yourself, but for convenience, it would be nice to have.
