Post

Hello all,

This is my first post:

So I got a new iPhone 6s Plus, and I wanted to mirror my iPhone onto the stock Nav Screen.

I was able to do so by getting the following items:
a) Apple Lightning to HDMI
b) Converter box from HDMI to RCA
c) RCA Cables

I was successful in mirroring the iPhone, and it becomes fullscreen when the iPhone is in landscape mode.

I have several photos, Not sure how to post them.

I have seen a Naviks, and a Kivik one unit which also do iphone mirroring and seem much more clear. Anyone know about these units,

However two issues:
a) There is a hissing, it starts at around half volume, it is tolerable but it is there
b) The screen does have waves running across it, a little bit, it is also tolerable but it isn't as clear as I would like it to be
c) Is there a way to put an HDMI port or input on the unit, that would make the video and audio much clearer

Someone please help

Thanks
Andy

a) you probably need a ground loop isolator to clear up the hissing or use high quality shielded audio cable.
b) does your convert box let you change the scan rate?
c) not going to happen. the screen only takes composite video and there is no digital audio in

been meaning to try something similar with a chromecast and an android phone but stupid chromecast doesn't work in ad-hoc mode which means i need to put a wifi router in the car too for it to work.

Thanks for the reply!

I will order the ground loop converter, Does it go next to the RCA Ports in the rear center console? Or by the amplifier?

My converter box does not let me change scan rate, its either PAL or NSTC,

Audio Problem:
------------------
I think the Audio problem is due to the USB plug in the converter requires. The reason I am led to believe this is, When I use the RCA jacks for Audio only, it works perfectly with no hissing. It`s only when I hook up all the video cords and USB power, that I get that hissing.

Video Problem:
------------------
I am thinking maybe too many cables are involved which is distorting the video signal.

I am also interested in a Naviks and or Kivic-One device which allows for iphone mirroring

Has anyone done this successfully?
