has ANYONE done a successful swap from the 2nd gen BOSE head unit to an android head unit at all?

I see units that replace the non bose head unit/navi... but not sure if the same thing applies to the bose units as well. Emails to the sellers have yielded no response.

Hopefully with the around view moniter/back up cam, radio, and steering wheel controls working? (fully functional, in other words)

If so... how hard was it? pics/experience/model/brand?

Yeah, the process is going to be about the same as it is for the 1st gen Rogue. There are extensive write-ups listed on the Rogue home page rogue-forum.html

You can also use the SEARCH feature on this forum to find out more.
IIRC when someone asked about this for the 1st gen, the around view system is proprietary. I did receive replies back from at least two different aftermarket manufactures (I think Pioneer was one) and none of the major brands makes a fully compatible unit. You could try contacting MXTRON to see if they have a newer more compatible unit available. Another member successfully installed this brand in their 2016 mxtron-stereo-replace-for-rogue-t608880.html

Is it safe to assume that you'd either have to have wifi in your car or connect to your phone over a hotspot? How easy is it to put wifi in the car? has anyone done it before?

I just installed an MXTRON unit in my 2016 SL. Everything works, except for some crackle in the speakers, which MXTRON says is likely due to the amp out to the Bose unit, but they don't have much experience with Bose systems. Very nice overall. 360 camera and steering wheel controls work and using an adapter you can re-use the OEM GPS antenna on the roof. This is the one I got: http://mxtron.com/products-detail.php?ProId=7

So, the crackle isn't in the speakers, it's actually in the bose amp under the passenger seat. Anyone have any ideas for a fix?
