One problem down.... one to go!

Took out the flimsy rubber intake piece today, looked inside, and there was NO coil in it. So, a buddy of mine had an AEM CAI from a Civic EX that he no longer is using so he gave it to me. 3 easy cuts with a dremel later, I had a custom hard pipe intake!

Super easy to make, and it works great. No more cutting out when I give it full throttle. The first time I took it to 6000 rpms, I was all smiles!

I took pics with my digicam on the process, so a "How-To" will be up shortly. I recommend this as an easy cosmetic upgrade over the stock rubber piece.

The only beef I have with it now, it due to some acoustic's in the pipe, it makes a warbling sound like a dying turkey between shifts. Kinda annoying, but I think a BOV will drown it out or help it a bit. Keep ya posted!

I actually used to like the noise it made; kinda like a 'pprrewww' type noise.

It's no longer the chattering it makes from before, more like a dying baby cow being clubbed to death with a whiffle ball bat.

Joe... get a BOV as soon as you can... i remember when i had my 323 my turbo made that niose... it not good... it's when instead of the air going out the BOV its goin backwards through the turbo... not good... in my case it was caused by a frozen BOV... fix it before you have to fix your turbo

I know it is compressor surge, but I plan on replacing the turbo with a T28 this winter, so a BOV is not a high priority now.

My digicam apparently had low batteries in it and all my pictures came out like crap. I will retake them tomorrow and work on the write up then.

I think it is the whiffle ball bat image that is most disturbing... :)

Sold it for what I've got in it, 150. And I bought a GReddy VSPL today too, so I really don't have a need for another intercooler.

I thought you were coming down today? I went junkyarding and found some incredible finds today :) S13 with HICAS and LSD :) 2 S14's with MINT seats..... and some other stuff I've hidden away.
