Hi folks, I'm a new registrant but have been sifting thru threads for a while now. I am considering trying an S13/S14 - DET for a project car, and am curious how many people here would say they have 'success stories' in these swaps? Have any of you actually picked up the car, ordered an engine, gotten the car up and running in, say, under six months, and enjoyed reasonably trouble-free operation? It seems like what most people are posting here are their tales of woe rather than stories of the fun they are having w/ their turbocharged pseudo-Silvias...

Thanks!

Paul

hopefully I'll be posting a success story in about 2 months...I'm paying for the motor today and the car is sitting next to my house ready for a transplant!

I'd relate that to the fact this is mainly a technical forum on the site, if you go to General section you'll find a lot more of those "i riced (imean raced) this rsx the other day" blah blah, and stories of happiness and joy surrounding their swaps...but this isnt the forum for that : )

Hey now! Who said I'd be a Honda convert? Actually I do like Hondas, but my current (boring) car is a Protege ES - I really do like having a fun car tho and am in withdrawl. I also like the FR setup, am mostly interested in drag-racing/stoplight GP, and just have a preference for Japanese cars over domestics.

my friend keeps talking about swapping the engine in his protege...mazda has a turbo 1.8 that puts out 180 hp and the japanese market 2.5 puts out a touch over 200 NA I believe :)
