Subwoofer with Factory Radio?

Hey Guys, After searching this site for a while and getting a good education I figured I'd still have to ask outright. Is there any "easy" way of adding a subwoofer to a Pathy with the standard Bose system?

I've read several great install threads but was hoping for an inexpensive option. I gave my 2001 Pathy LE to my 17-year-old son who of course wants more thump, thump and was hoping to just throw a couple of 12"s in the back. I explained the head unit needed RCA sub out (although I see some adapters out there that splice into the rear speakers) and needed enough power to push air.

Thanks in advance for the advice. I spend most of my time in the 240 vert forum but this one has helped me save tons of $$'s over the years.

You can use a line-out converter and just tap some of the wires at the rear speaker amp in the driver side rear quarter panel. Here's a thread which covers this topic more thoroughly...
