so my 12 inch sub just pounds for no reason.. it goes away sometimes but it pisses me off so i just disconnect the positive..

does anyone know why this could be?thanks!

might be a bad RCA input/output. try the amplifier on a friends system and see if its that

Bad ground, bad amp, speaker level converter wired to deck and turn on lead wired to ignition with ignition turned on and radio turned off?

happen when you hit bumps or anything else (turning a certain way) that might cause it?

it doesnt happen all the time... but when it happens i cant get it to stop so i just disconnect it like i said...

kenwood deck.. real good deck trust me

okay mtx amp..

wiring is not the greatest... im not sure which gauge but its pretty thin.. thing is though i dont think its that.. cause it was working fine for like 3 months and then all of a sudden this started to happen..

im thinking ground?? anyone?

well to be honest, the kenwood deck might have crapped out. i used to work in the electronic business for like 2 years and that and pioneer were the ones that came in all the time for service. so it might be the deck. it also might be the amp, like i said start troubleshooting and narrow it down. deck is the one that gives out the signal, but the amp might be sending a signal that doesnt belong. the easiest target to experiment is the amp since its simple screw and unscrew no need to tear apart the interior
