I posted this in the Audio Section under Technical, but didn't get any response. Can you help me out?

I picked up a 2003 350ZX subwoofer from a wreck and want to install it in the rear deck of my Q. What I need is a color coded wiring diagram for the subwoofer unit itself so I can splice in the correct wires. Can anyone help me out? Thanks much...............John

John i dont know how your gonna make it work unless you have an amp for said sub... You cant just plug and play into the factory bose system..

I acquired the sub-woofer with the Bose amplifier. My thinking is that I can tap into the pre-amplified signal to the rear speakers from the Bose head unit and route this signal to the sub-woofer amplifier along with a power and ground lead and I would get the proper sound. I would probably also run 'base blockers' on the Bose amplified rear speakers which I plan to replace with Infiniti Kappas (2-way or 3-way - any suggestions?).

Since I have a G20 Bose head unit with the in-dash single CD player, I removed the obtrusive/inconvenient trunk-mounted CD changer. But, I still have the wiring harness for that system in place. I thought if I could match the wiring up properly, I could use that to carry signal and power to the rear deck. I also got the wiring connectors and the sub-woofer cover panel which I have figured out how to install in my rear deck, although that won't be easy.

Whatcha think..................John

Hey Anlasak, this is just great. I'm working in the garage today and I'll see if I can match it up to the Bose sub-woofer amplifier i've got.

I'll let you know................John

Just make sure that pins #1 & #2 on the sub amp in the diagram above get a PRE amp signal and not a POST amp signal.(ie, If you are hooking into an existing Bose system, you'll want to splice into the wiring before the stock amplifier)

Good luck.

You could also just use any amp you like that has a high level input and pull a signal from any speaker (on the post amplifier side, between the speaker and the amp). Then bridge that amp mono to the bose sub you have. This could be much simpler than decyphering the bose maze and you won't run any risk of toasing the low level outputs on your bose headunit.

Well...........the wiring diagram worked out just great. I have all of the wiring figured out. Now, when I pull the seat and rear deck out to replace my fuel pump, I'll just rig up the sub-woofer.

Many thanks................John
