so i picked up my 240sx today and my friend wants to let me have his old subs and amp. theyre xplodes or something generic like that.

i have an aftermarket headunit and was wondering when i play the radio loud the rear speaker are a bit blown nothing bad just a lil rattle to em.

if i install the subs will it remove the low end and prevent them from blowing?

and if it will make the speaker sound better until i get money to get new ones, what do i need to install them? cables are needed if im not mistaken.

ive never messed with car audio so better safe than sorry. and if theres any how tos out there on subs in a 240 that would be appreciated

are the speaker in the back aftermarket or factory, cause if their factory you can tweak the head unit setting the lows side to prevent the rattling if not those speaker are in the last legs and about to blow so installing the amp and sub is only going to mask the issue til it blows,

first of all it will not take the lows away from the rear speakers what you have to do is go into the radio menu and take out the bass and if you have it turn off loud, now the problem is with the subs if you dont have a sub catagory on the menu it will take the bass out of the subs and they wont hit as hard. as for to install you will need about 17ft of power wire 4 ft of ground wire, 17 ft of rca and a remote wire to turn the amp on. when your running your wires. you want to take the rca's and remote wire and run them down the oposite side of the car that you run the power wire on to avoid pulling engine noise threw the power wire.
