I recently added a subwoofer to my 2012 convertible and wanted to post some instructions because I couldn't find anything on the internet. If anyone has questions let me know.

Nice Job- man now you won't need roof switch to open the roof, just Blast the sub woofer and roof will open<JK:>) :chuckle:

Thanks, it sounds great (better with the top up) with a 12. I went with the pioneer shallow mount. It was one of the few subwoofers with a shallow enough mounting depth.

Yes, the setup will work on any vehicle. The placement is a different story.

Here is a link for the same tutorial on my blog page. That way it will always be online in case I delete my drive. http://g37convertiblesubwoofer.blogspot.com/

I just traded in my convertible and have the custom 12" sub woofer enclosure from this build. If someone is interested in buying it let me know. It would probably be better if you lived in the area due to shipping expenses.

Post

Hey Guys! Just got my G37s Conv last week. Im interested in putting in a 12" woofer in the trunk. Audio place wants to charge me $400 for the box. Is this easy enough to do myself with MDF? Does anybody have the dimensions? I want to put a 12" JL audio shallow mount sub in there with an amp. Has anybody found a place to mount the amp and still maintain the cubic feet requirement for the sub?

Thanks all!

You can PM me at Timothy . Mumford 2013 (at) gmail

To build the custom box that i listed in the document at the top was very simple and cheap. Cost me less than $50 to do. Your main restriction is the height of the space.
