substituting nissan smart key for an infiniti can it be done

just bought an 06 m35 it came with one smart key and the only smart key I could find on ebay with the same fcc # and ic # are nissan smart keys debating on buying it and see if it will work when the dealer programs it has anyone successfully done this or knows if it will work for sure thanks

Interesting question, but how much $$$ are we talking about? I would just spend a few extra bucks and get the Infiniti one.

I bough 3 used keys with uncut blades from this seller and got them in 2 days. Worked great. The crappy thing is that infiniti will charge you $100+ to program them.

Wait, you said eBay? And yes, you will incur at least $100 to re-program the key at Infiniti.

I bought a new smart on ebay and the dealer (Houston SW Infiniti) programmed it and cut the manual key for free.

The ones I bought were the same intelligent keys from Infiniti. They are used but worked great. It did come with an uncut key which I assume was a just a simple replacement.

All in all the dealers in the area all wanted $100+ to program.

double check with the dealer; usually that $150 price INCLUDES the programming. So, if you spend $30 on a NIssan key and $100 to program, just spend $20 more and get the Infiniti key. My two centavos worth -- and you get what you pay for!
