I searched, but didn't find an answer....

Are the '94 Q45 brake pads the same as the '90?

I have locally available '94 pads, and was wondering if I could use them in my Q, or are they a different size/shape??

Size and shape is the same, the formulations vary. Read Q45tech's posts.

Do you have the wear sensor on the right rear? It was moved around before it was eliminated later in 1995.

Maybe some members can post what brands they have used and which ones they like or dislike.

I remember reading a post by q45tech I think, where he mentions different brake pad compositions, but I just called an Infiniti dealer out of curiousity and they told me that they only have 1 kind. The person from the parts department refused to give me the part numbers and developed a bitter attitude when I asked him, so after my respose to him, he gave up the last digits and was very happy to quote the inflated prices.

Front Brake pads : Last 6 digits 66U91 $130.61 Canadian + tax = $150 approx.

Rear Brake pads : Last 6 digits 66U85 $130.61 Canadian + tax = $150 approx.

I haven't removed the wheels yet to look for the wear sensor (I am assuming that it's on one of the front calipers)

I will be getting the pads from a Nissan dealership (we didn't have infiniti dealers here... so Nissan took care of the infiniti sales, and we only got them from '94 till '97, hence the question about the '94 pads being compatable)

Just wanted to see if the '94 pads would fit my '90, or whether I would have to import them from the US....

Price comparrison is a must for me, as I MAY find that they will be cheaper from the US.....

I guess my main question is...

Will I have any problems trying to fit '94 Q pads to my '90 Q?(maxnix said they are the same size and shape, so I am assuming that it will be ok)

Pads in US are less than 1/2 of the Canadian price. I think they are close to $60. Hopefully, some other more informed member will chime in and answer your question soon.

No, but you may have to short wire and disable the sensors, or try to move them to the appropriate wheel.

I would call Joe and put together a 100 lb order and stock up. See where the shipping break is.
