Hello, I changed the rear cross member on my Nissan Murano Z50 and a piece of thread was torn off the bolt.....

We have now fitted the cross member, unfortunately the nut can only be screwed on with 3 turns of the thread. The other 3 guide bolts are all in tact.
Do any of you have an idea (apart from scrapping) how to solve the problem, is it enough to weld the nut to the bolt?

Thanks for any help.

You can cut it further up and weld a bolt with new threads onto the post, but if you're not concerned about ever dropping the crossmember again, welding a nut to what's left of the threads should work fine.

Yes, thank you, I was just worried that even when welded the nut would only hang on 3 threads. would then have to be welded all round by a professional.
Of course it is clear that a lot of energy is applied to the bolts when driving/braking. I think that it may be a safe solution

Best regards Andreas
