Ok, I've read about the guys in SCC wanting to use them, and then someone on the updated mods thread mentioned them too. I have yet to run across subframe spacers anywhere. The big question is how do they tighten up the subframe and where could i get them if the inclination to do such a thing hit me?

If anyone is interested we made a bunch of these and keep them around the shop. Will let them go cheap. E-mail me for details. [email protected]

put your car up on jackstands and throw the jack under the diff and jack there. You will see that the whole subframe will push up into the car about 1/2". The spacers get rid of that play and essentially lock the subframe to the car.. When the stock rubber bushings wear out ( in many cases in the S13 ) you can hear the subframe banging around when you floor it. Even ifd the stock busings are not broken there is still too much play for me. :)

aha! so that's what the subframe spacers do. i knew they locked the subframe, but wasn't quite sure what the subframe was. I assume doing this stiffens the ride out a lot since you're taking away the car's ability to absorb shock

So how does one go about installing these bushings?

Pictures for a 300ZX but all the same in general. This should be more than helpful in detailing what you need to do. Honestly a very quick modification to make. Shouldnt take you more than half an hour.

id like to kno also, ive got some whitelines that i bought and need to kno if a lift is needed to install these. also with the ones i bought is says u can use them to replace the origonals or you can put them inbetween the subframe arms and bolts to squeeze the stock bushins tighter. what is anyone's suggestion on which way to do it?

If they are not the collar type then you will need to drop the subframe and have the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in. My Kazama collars are coming in next week. I'll post back on here how they feel overall. Can't wait to get some of the slop out of it.

the one conern i have about the spacers is how rough it makes the ride. i enjoy being able to drive a car without it feeling like i'm rolling on botts dots all the time

Yeah there will be some roughness involved. Little more noise. Nothing I think I can't deal with. Of course thats my opinion. That's why I'm trying the collars to get an idea. If I feel I need more stiffness then I'll replace them completely. The SPL aluminum replacements are just hardcore. I couldnt imagine how much noise and roughness those would add but the trade off for the stiffness is awesome. Just my 2 cents.
