I am trying to put in the subframe collars in my 96 240sx but have one issue. I can't get one of the top collar on. The bushing or washer or whatever it is is stuck to the car's frame and won't come down and if I try prying the subframe down it stats to tear the bushing instead of pull the washer from the car? Anyone ever have this problem? And what did you do?

Thanks!

i dont have a answer but...sounds like your bushings are totally shot...and the collars would only help "so much". Id rather get new bushings. Aluminum ones most likely.

You have to drop the whole subframe to do the whole bushings don't you? I may have to save changing those for another day. Is it much harder to do since I already have it unbolted? Maybe I should just do it now... How hard is it to press the new bushings in?

for the solid aluminum ones yes, your also gonna have to heat the subframe and freeze the bushings, but in your case that may be the best thing to do, especially if you cant get the original bushing to lower down when you loosen the bolts
