Subframe Bushings

k so i just bought a car and it had a clunk in the rear everytime if i shift at low rpms....seller said it was transmission fluid and my friend did too....i went along with it until i asked the 240 forums and they said it was the subframe bushings.how much does this cost on avg to buy?also how much on avg is this if i take it to a shop and have them fix it?Thanks

Well if you do new bushing your need a press and to drop the subframe. But you can use subframe collars and all you have to do is get under the car and loosen the bolts. This method is cheap and very easy. I would also check your axle bolts, diff mounting bolts, and driveshaft bolts. The drain anf fill your trans and diff.

Subframe collars cost about 50 bucks for the named brands.

could also be a worn u-joint on the driveshaft, or it would use grease, hit all of the grease fittings too.

I just installed a set from "Power by Max". $50 and very easy to do...
