Has anyone used the nismo rear subframe bushings on an s14.Mine are shot, I get a real bad pop when I reverse, and let off the gas to shift up from 1st to 2nd. I didn't know if it would be easier to install the aluminium bushing spacers or the nismos.

Did you use the ebay ones or a more reputable company?

Figured I'd chime in being as I just finished replacing my stock bushings with solid aluminum bushings from NIP. (Not collars) Let me just say that depending on how far gone your stock ones are, you may not be able to use the collars. Mine were completely separated into two pieces. Anyway, dropping the subframe is the easiest part. Getting those SOB's out are a *****! I can give you driving impressions after this weekend. If you do decide to do it, invest in:

1. A sawsall w/ bi-metal blades.2. A good chisel3. A BFH (Big freakin' hammer)

I dropped something.

If your bushings look like this, collars are not an option.

You'll get the hang of it after the first one.

New bushings installed

take that authority!

I actually Just ordered my Nismo Subframe Insulator Mounting bushings(technical name) today.

I bought subframe spacers a while back.. found out my subframe bushings wer shot.. so sold em.. and decided ot go with the Nismo pieces..

no idea which is easier.Id say the aluminum are easier to press in. since you use a big *** hammer to do it.the Nismo ones you'd have to be more carefull pressing them in.

Mine are far gone, if I release the clutch fast in reverse you can see the subframe move down about 2" and pop. I will for sure be investing in the nismo Insulator bushings then. Thanks for the info fellas.

the collers don't solve the problem if you bushings are like this

thats the reason why I sold My collers in favor of Nismo subframe bushings.

collers only compress bushings.soo.. your bushings have to be in good shape for these to work.

just trying to clear things up.

How do you like the bushings?

I just ordered them from nip.Seemed like a good deal. Did you install the hard rubber bushings that come with them?

I just got my nismo bushings in today, I'm not looking forward to putting them in but the ride quality I have with shot ones is starting to piss me off alittle lol.
