Subcommittee on Immigration: Joke time, or real work?

I have mixed feelings on this. Colbert is talented, and funny at times, but I think he's also a bit of an extremist. Regardless, is this the kind of stuff we want going on in congressional hearings?

The more I think about it, the more I'm offended by his presence there.

The Dems have succeeded in making a mockery of yet another "sacred" part of American government. His appearance was inappropriate, in poor taste, and a waste of time.

You want to show up and testify openly and honestly, fine. Lots of entertainers have done so. But to come in IN CHARACTER and basically do a stand-up routine is just goddamn uncalled for.
