Alright, i currently have 3 adire shivas in my car. 2 of them are in a decently sized box and the 3rd is a tad undersized. The 3rd sub sounds like **** and on top of that i have no trunk space what so ever. So, Does anyone know of a sub for around the same price that takes less trunk space and gives similar performance.

I have 2 audiobhan 8". they take 300 watts RMS each. They are in a custom built plexiglass box. IT does take up room but I don't have any room to begin with anyways. (95 S14) but the sound is really really nice. It's not like compitition or anything but it will rock better than a lot fo the 12's out there.they were pretty cheap as well

How much did you pay for the shivas? I heard they were pretty damn good. What size are they? 10"s, 12's? Let me know how much you paid, then i can give you some suggestions.

i have 3 legacy subs, and they are cheap, and sound as good as any infinity or any 200.00 crap. they are worth 30 some bucks at most places you can get them. my car booms better than any other car at my school. although i'm selling my system right now........3 legacy 12's, 1000 watt 4 ch pyramid amp. i found some good offers though. i paid 250 for it from my friend, and i found a guy that will buy it for 400. i just got myself 1/4 of the apexi dual right there.

i have 2 alpine type-s 10's in a custom tri-tuned box (3 port holes per sub) tuned to the resonance frequency of my car with 2 of the ports aimed right at the glass on my back hatchmetered it with a freshly calibrated mic at my buddies work

4 15 type-r's in an eagle talon 157.something dbmy car - 151.2db

box takes up like 75% of my trunk though hehehbut alpine type-s's are really space efficient and usually dont need huge boxes

you need jl w6's or an orion HCCA. w6's are made to be run in triplets so you can bridge a single amp on all three subs and it drops it to 1 ohm I believe the hcca one 10" is equal like 4 10" do you have a hatchback?

the idq is a hardcore sub indeed. is the price of 2 hcca's about equal to the price of 3 shivas?

If your interior is dimming, buy a capacitor. These among other things are what people neglect when installing LOUD stereos in theirs cars. There's only one way to do it, do it right. Then it'll be LOUD-ER (and cleaner). HA! yayawoowoo gotta have tunes.

If I were you Id get a single Adire brahma, youll be useing the JBL BP-1200.1 right? With a few electrical uprades, that amp could easily put out 1400 watts rms, which would be plenty for a Brahma. One Brahma 15" in a ported box, with that power, could easily match the output of at least two lower output subs. And they have great SQ. Plus, your not gonna be using up too much space. http://www.adireaudio.com

Resonant Engineering makes some awesome subs too, even their cheaper subs kick a$$. http://www.respl.com

Thats the Image Dynamics IDMAX. They are kinda expensive, but you can find them cheaper on ebay. Its hard to order these things because they are on national back order. They are great subs if your looking for a sub that has good sound quality and plays loud too. They can handle 1000 watts rms, but they really only need 800 watts rms too reach full excursion. Excellent SQ in a sealed box, I heard they sounded good ported, Ive yet to actually hear a ported MAX though.

i would get a brahma but it would be a huge drop off in spl. since a brahma dealer told me that 2 shivas= 1 brahma. and plus dont brahmas take up an gigantic amount of room in a ported box? Elemental designs new 12k seems pretty good do you know how it sounds ported? and if i could fit 3, w/ good box size, in the back of a hb.

Were your shivas sealed or ported? 2 sealed shivas would probably match the performance of a sealed brahma, with the same power going to each application (1200 watts rms to the Brahma, 600 watts rms per shiva). A ported Brahma would probably out do two sealed shivas as far as SPL goes. Brahams are also very linear, so they wont break up at high volumes. i would think that a Ported brahma 15 wouldnt take up as much room as 3 12s would. 2-3.5 cubes for a ported box isnt that bad, those are Adires spec's for a ported ( or vented) enclosure. I think it would be cool to to blow away most peoples systems with a single sub.

Ive heard that elementals subs were pretty good, havent got a chance to hear them yet though.

Might also want to check out the Audiomobile EVO subs, they run about 200$ a piece for the 12s.

audiomobile is the devil. The owner of the company posts on like 60 different forums and all he does is bash his competitors and make outlandish claims about his products.

This is true, I believe he goes by the screen name Mover. its a shame that his products get a bad reputation because of his duech bag tactics. But actually the subs do kick a$$, especially for the price. Ive actually got a chance to listen to the Audiomobile MASS subs, sweet a$$! Havent heard the Evo or Evo-Rs yet.
