OK.. Heres the deal...

I hooked up my sub, power wire (not routed through the car, wanted to test fire first), got all my speaker wire stripped and stuff like that... Went from the positive terminal of the battery to the power port on the amp, then grounded the GND portion to the metal thing in the back... Its like strut brace

Since I have "speaker level inputs" on the amp I figured I could tap right in where it goes from the bose amp right to the actual speaker, into the amp..

I tried and I got no sound :( . I have power, i checked between the 2 terminals and I have battery voltage, so the amp is getting power.....

Theoretically this setup should work... PLEASE help!

you have to hook up the remote to turn the amp on. Usually a blue wire

hey wes, make sure when you route your positive wire to use an inline fuse right next the the positive terminal you use. If your amp + wire gets pinched and shorts out, you prevent your car from burning up and great anguish. (no, I didn't learn this the hard way, but it's not too tough to imagine) It sounds like you're a beginner and I remember when I started out with wiring amps and such I made a lot of silly mistakes too. Also, if you use a long length of power wire, you should get heavy gauge stuff to prevent voltage drop. I use 4 gauge welding cable from True Value (basic hardware store). Works Xlant

Thanks scott.....

I used 8ga since i dont hvae a very powerful amp, and that would be just fine IMHO..

I have a fuse in there now, but i need to get a new one soon as its a bit too small (too short for the holder, cuts out soemtimes when driving)

I need to geta new switch too, as right now I have a wire running in the cabin and I have to twist them together to turn on. Hey it works.....

lol ghetto fabolous:) be careful and spend a buck to get a cheap switch there's still enough power in that lil remote turn on to create sparks if it grounds out in the cabin.... take it from experience:)

You didn't tell me you were doing that, WES GO GET A SWITCH NOW even if you have to take it off a mower at the course.

Im not using it until I get some more stuff, to make it safer.. Going up to the shop next week and Ill get it all done then...
