Does anyone have instructions / pictures of how I can install my own sub / amp in my 07 M35? I want to kill off the useless Bose Sub and install my Cerwin Vega for some real punch!

Thanks

This is not as easy as it may sound. The Bose has a compensating circuits to manage the volume and protect the cheap speakers throughout. Depending on your system, you may need to buy a JL Audio CleanSweep or similar device that is connected between the OEM amp (Bose) and your new one.

I'm not satisfied with the Bose Premium either, and have about decided to start with the 4 main speakers (they are 2 ohm) and then deal with the sub later. I've been told about the only speakers that work well are Infiniti or JL Audio with the stock Bose amp.

Like a said, not easy, but doable...

Good luck and keep us posted on progess...

I was going to take my car to Bestbuy who for $80 will fit my existing amp and vega subs which is a good deal. They said they have done an M45 before and create a line out connection from the existing rear speakers and wire new cables for the amp to the battery. The old sub and amp is disconnected but not sure how.

That's why i wanted some pictures of people doing this install as I thought I might try it myself and save some cash.

Problem with the Bose system is that it has built-in equalization to lower sub frequencies as you turn up the volume. The best way to integrate a amp/sub combo with the Bose system is to probably use a JL Audio CleanSweep.

I installed the line out converter today from the rear speakers and will install my amp and sub tomorrow and disconnect the useless Bose Sub and Amp. I am finally looking forward to some decent clear bass at a decent volume.

Adjust the gains pretty high because as you turn it up the headunit is going to somewhat defeat it.

I just posted my dislike for the 5.1 system, any additional info you can supply would be appreciated. As I said in my post, my Ford F-150 system will spank the Infiniti and I have owned 3 of them.

(A minor comment before I start: I have edited your posts to correct the spelling of "Infiniti" (it is not Infinity). Some people here are anal about seeing the car name spelled right! )

Secondly, short of spending money to replace the system in the car, you will not get any improvement.

But ..

I am an audiophile, and I have yet to sit in any vehicle whose audio system impressed me, or the other extraneous noises (tires, road surface, other cars, etc.) did not intrude on the music anyway!

So, years ago, I learned not to worry about this ... when I want to listen to music, I sit back at home and enjoy it there instead. I have not bothered spending money on vehicle stereo systems, because it is a waste of money and time, IMHO.
