RU serious? I have a 98 Q base model that I tried these spacers to try and tighten up the rear a little in lieu of dropping the entire subframe and pressing in new bushings. I posted a thread about my annoying rear suspension squeaking and after lubing up the subframe bushings, the sound went away for about a year, but then started to return. The bushings were not leaking, but I figured they were getting worn out and allowing the rear end to move around. After installing the aluminum spacers, what I got was a ridiculous vibration when going over moderate bumps and a constant vibration at highway speeds on roads that were slightly grooved. This drove me crazy to the point where I tried just removing the top spacer and leaving the bottom one in. That reduced a lot of the vibrations, but there were still present.
Maybe some members enjoy that harsh ride, but I bought my car to enjoy a firm (not slushy like a Cadillac) yet sporty suspension ride. I ended up removing all the spacers after only two days of driving. So, if someone out there wants to try a set of these spacers (they are the silver ones) I purchased for $50 let me know and shoot me a reasonable offer. I have no use for these and am not going to reinstall them again.
I bought these spacers because I read they would tighten up the rear end, but my car is not a drift car, so I can stand a little extra movement versus the constant bump, bump, bump from the rear. And yes, I have installed new sway bar bushings, rear struts and rear mount bushings so those items are not causing my harsh ride.
Good luck if you want to give them a try.
