I was wondering if anyone is running solid sub frame collars or bushings on their Q. If yes could let me know on the ride quality? Thanks

Yes I couldn't tell any noticeable difference in the ride as I already had the 20mm rear anti-sway bar with poly bushings with Tokico blues -- so it was already a firm ride. I noticed a "thunk" when I would pull in the driveway at a good speed that was the bushing moving around. The spacer eliminated the thunk noise.

Here's a thread where it was discussed..

I got the parts from http://www.importpartspro.com/sm005.html

I thought the guy I talked to on the phone at IPP was helpful and interested that someone would use Z32 parts on a Q45.

No differential noise at all?

OP, I am running sub frame collars with tokico blues and espilir active super down springs, no noises. I wanted to do the busings but there were clearance issues with the fuel tank... OwnerCS, I'd say that's likely your "thunk".

I've had the spacers in for years now with no noticeable increase in noise vibrations or harshness. All

RU serious? I have a 98 Q base model that I tried these spacers to try and tighten up the rear a little in lieu of dropping the entire subframe and pressing in new bushings. I posted a thread about my annoying rear suspension squeaking and after lubing up the subframe bushings, the sound went away for about a year, but then started to return. The bushings were not leaking, but I figured they were getting worn out and allowing the rear end to move around. After installing the aluminum spacers, what I got was a ridiculous vibration when going over moderate bumps and a constant vibration at highway speeds on roads that were slightly grooved. This drove me crazy to the point where I tried just removing the top spacer and leaving the bottom one in. That reduced a lot of the vibrations, but there were still present.

Maybe some members enjoy that harsh ride, but I bought my car to enjoy a firm (not slushy like a Cadillac) yet sporty suspension ride. I ended up removing all the spacers after only two days of driving. So, if someone out there wants to try a set of these spacers (they are the silver ones) I purchased for $50 let me know and shoot me a reasonable offer. I have no use for these and am not going to reinstall them again.

I bought these spacers because I read they would tighten up the rear end, but my car is not a drift car, so I can stand a little extra movement versus the constant bump, bump, bump from the rear. And yes, I have installed new sway bar bushings, rear struts and rear mount bushings so those items are not causing my harsh ride. :)

Good luck if you want to give them a try.

Ted
