Good Afternoon,

You would think there would be more info on the M and it's subframe bushing problem. I have searched and only found two references but no answers. Lots of aftermarket parts for other models but not the M? This is supposed to be a common problem but there is nothing on it so I bring it up again. Does anyone have any info other than coughing up the 1800 dealer dollars to fix the leaking sub frame bushing on an M35 45? I imagine 2006 - 2010 that they are the same but who knows.

Are you looking for a part number to buy yourself and do the work yourself?

I'd use a site like infinitipartsusa.com or something to get the part number...

I was digging around to find related threads, but I wasn't having much luck with the keywords. I felt that I had contributed to a discussion on this topic.

Anyway, I wouldn't say it's a very common problem with Ms. 350z and g35 maybe? :gotme

Do you.mind posting the 2 references you mentioned to help us get up to speed?

Yeah let me dig those up, those are on another computer at home. yes if I could do it myself I would. But I need to see what is involved and if the part is available.

Here are a couple. I just can't find if someone has done this themselves and/or a part number and have someone other that the stealership do it. Has anyone done this?

Ok, thank you. I've seen those threads before but I can't pinpoint where or why. Oh well, maybe it's just deja vu.

Personally, I would attempt to do that task myself. It might take time to finesse things around, but I keep a spare car for such purposes. I like a challenge.

Since you have an M35, are you able/willing to go under your car and take the best measurements of the bushing on your car?
If you do it, I'll do the same on my M45 and we can compare the numbers (diameter & depth) to the specs of the G35 options out there.

I'll hazard a guess that noone with an M has actually had it done, or it's not gotten bad enough. Maybe with your efforts we can establish some info on this.

Well if I was able to do this https://www.f150online.com/forums/trans ... -pics.html

I should be able to measure the bushing. Amazing no one has done this before. Being the most wonderful time of the year, I will be looking to get under the car sometime in the new year. Thanks for your help in looking at yours too.

Merry Christmas,

Jim

No doubt! It looks like some intrusive transmission work. (My phone has an issue where popup websites take over pages in certain websites, so I couldn't see too much).

I found a way to stuff my garage again, but I'll try to get the M45 back in for measurements pretty soon. Tis the season!

I hate looking at websites with my phone. But I'm old school sys admin. Phones suck, I hate them. I don't even like laptops considering I am using one to write this. FYI, I fixed that on the street with the help of a lot of good people doing what we are going to do. It wasn't easy but it was well worth it considering it was 4000 plus to get a new trans.
