Hey guys thanks for your previous help,As an update I have been putting a 96 engine in my 92 q.I tried to start the car today and it would not start.I think I know where the problem is but I am not sure how to remedy it.Along with a number of other differences the cas units are not interchangeable. What I have now is the new style cas with the wiring converted to the proper connector, however there is only one 4 wire connector where the old one had a 4 pin connector plus a 3 wire pigtail coming out of the sub cas and connecting to the harness at the intake manifold.I am sure the ecu needs this input from the sub cas to start, but without the pigtail from the old cas I am not sure what signals it needs.Anyone have any Ideas?

The sub sensor generates the 90 degree pulses used to start the engine in batch fire mode and is accurate enough to deal with stationarywarm up.

The ecu switches to main sensor when it's output is stable: the 0 degree triple wide pulse and the other 359 single width pulse........

You must provide ecu with both signals.

Why we always match the series engines with the car and never bother with conversions...........however it seems to have been done by either swapping entire engine harnesses and ecu or adapting bits and pieces/connectors together.
