Sub box question.

I was wondering if any of you hatch owners might be able to calculate how much cu ft the foam filler that goes over the spare tire displaces. I cant get to my car right now but I have an idea about making a stealth box for a shallow mount sub that would fill that space. If any of you guys out there could help me out. That would be great.

Depends on how rough of an estimate you want.

Measure its diameter... cut that number in half, then multiply it by pi and square the result. That is the surface area. Then measure the height, and multiply surface area by that. It will give you a rough estimate (since the thing is not exactly competely even in size).

Get a bunch of packaging peanuts and fill the spare tirewell, then dump then in a box. That will give you a pretty close est. I havent looked at the spare tire area in a while, but I would GUESS about 2.5-3 cu ft.
