Well there's a lot of different things to factor in:

1. What kind of music do you listen to?

1 10" may not be enough boom for you. Typically 10s are for a more "punchy" bass for rock and pop music. If you listen to rap/hiphop you probably would want to go with a single ported 12". It all depends on your other gear as well. How much trunk do you want to use up? What amp and head unit are you using? And so on.

I run a single ported 12" Mach 5 Audio sub. It's was cheap and i grabbed a ported bassworx box from BestBuy to finish it off. I listen to mostly rap music and it hits the lows nicely.

See my "review" on the Zenclosure here...

post5438873.html?hilit=Zenclosure#p5438873

I will add that since that post I installed my full system and I think it sounds great. If you say "good clear bass" is what you want, that is what you get, just make sure the subs you mount in it are being given the proper air space they need. I listen to ALL types of music, hip hop, metal, drum and bass, hardcore...and I have to say that MOST sound amazing. Very low range bass destroys from this thing, mid and high is so so. But the sound is always clean, the way it was recorded and meant to be heard by the artist/recording engineer/mastering engineer. Ported boxes essentially simulate bass tones, this box doesnt do that. Not saying ported is bad, if you want to have your teeth chatter all day with nice low end and high all the way through then ported is the way to go for hip hop and such. But this box gives good accurate reproduction through full range.

You could also build your own version of the Zenclosure for a single ported application. Here are the dimensions. Just do a little quick web research on the size and depth of the port needed for the boxes cubic volume, its not just a hole there is a science to it.

You'll want to get an after market head unit with preouts. You'll need an amp and while you're at it you may want to upgrade the speakers. I have stock speakers and they're good enough for me after some tuning.

its a fiberglass box, you can find instructions all over the net. i spent about a week on it, but it was my first so it took a bit of time. but it would also depend on how much airspace you need for the sub you want

yes plenty of ppl.... just need the sub and the right amp for the sub... AND... a hi-lo switch or (adapter) its called that allows you to connect the amp to the stock head unit..... now only thing u need 2 know is that you wont get 100% wattage from your sub.. because the stock headunit does not distribute alot of watts...but its still goood and ull get alot of base...

I have the stock Bose with and aftermarket amp and 2 - 10" subs. Like mattv said you'll need a hi-low converter to do the install. I made a thread about it in the av forum. I'll try to find it and link it. Don't skimp out on the converter though. Be sure you get a PAC unit and NOT anything else. Somebody used a different converter and it didn't work. When he went and bought the PAC unit it worked. You can also get it with an adjustable gain control for both channels.

** EDIT ** Here's the link to that thread Just make sure you read the whole thing so you understand.
