I have a aura stage 2 amp I'm going to use for my sub.Here are the specs.2 Channel Amplifier 2 x 75 watts into 4 ohms, 1 x 225 watts bridged mono into 4 ohms, 0.1% THD from 20 to 20kHz. 85 dB signal-to-noise ratio. 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response.

My question is which is best, run a single voice coil sub and bridge the amp or use a dual voice coil sub and run it in 2 channel mode. I will be using a 12" sub but haven't decided on the brand.

Either will be fine. Single 4ohm, dual 8ohm or dual 2ohm. All end up with the same impedence.

They all give the same performance from the amp. What matters is how each speaker will perform. So if you want the most power out of your amp pick a woofer with either a single 4ohm coil, dual 8's or dual 2's. Your doors are wide open to possibilities.

Check out the Creative Sounds SDX-10. It's an excellent buy for the money. Also the Exodus Audio Shiva-X is on sale. Unfortunately, off the top of my head, I don't know what VC's they have.
