I took my sky40 out tonight and its not running smoothly at WOT. If i give it 60-70% throttle it pulls like hell and breaks em loose in the middle of 1st and 2nd gear but if i floor it all the way its hesitating. Everything is stock RB20DET. What are some common causes for this kind of thing?

How's your idle? If its rough then you may have a boost leak. Maybe your MAF is dirty?

Yeah mine was actually missing on 2 cylinders and we pulled the spark plugs and they turned out to be the ones from the factory so I replaced them and it fired on 5 cylinders. I was went down to get it tuned but I didn't want to tune it with it still missing. So the one of the guys at P1 took a hammer and a screw driver to one of my injectors as we determined it was not flowing into the cylinder at all. Now my car is running strong and not missing a beat. I still have put some sea foam in to clean my injectors a bit.~ANDREW~

EVERY SINGLE, without fail RB engine I have gotten has had autolites in it when it got to me. Can't explain it but its true.

Check your timing, it sounds like when you jump on it the timing is advancing too far.

Maybe the importers are putting Autolites in them to do a start-up test before shipping them to you.

Mine had NGK platinums (OEM) when I got it from Venus. Still didn't stop me from installing Denso Iridiums, tho.

That's a shame about Autolites and Fram as well. Allied Signal (now Honeywell) used to make some really good products. I guess Garrett is still one of their better brand names.

autolite and fram filters are teh suck.......my rb still had the factory plugs in them, took them out and put in some new copper plugs and it ran 100x better.

The down underguys say it's "JDM" they come with those from the factory in japan. Autolite it really big in japan.

No stock spark plugs are ngk iridiums... just like they are for all the sr20's. I'm sure they put the autolites in there just for startup

we put the autolites in cause we finished the swap late and only walmart was open I redid the timing a few times and got it running pretty well. I don't have a tach so i gotta estimate my RPMs to set timing. Now the only hesitation i'l get is sometimes if i'm cruising and then stab the throttle. but it runs really strong.

Hey whats up, I just got my RB25 in last week and it is doing the same thing it runs strong but when i punch it it sputters a bit and then kicks in. I'm going to have it dyno and tuned today so hopefully they can tell me whats going on, I'll let you know what they say!
