stuttered power on accelleration, and wierd knocking at idle.

I have a 1993 stock ka24de and I have a few problems, first off I just had to helicoil a valve cover bolt, and I just got everything back on tonight (I had also taken the throttle body off to investigate). Anyway I have two major problems. 1. When I start to accelerate and let of the gass or sometimes just normal, The car almost seems to skip from power to no power really rapidly. I believe it is prolly timing, but I really have no clue. Any ideas?2. When Idling, there is a loud knocking that doesnt sound like its coming from the valves. The previous owner said it was the pulleys and they need to be cleaned and or tightened. Does that make sense? It also sounds like it might be coming from the distributor. Once again, Any help would be nice!
